THE BIBLE AND THE WORD OF GOD

Many believers of Christ today are not experiencing the power of the Gospel because they lack the accurate knowledge and meaning of these two phrases, “THE BIBLE" and “THE WORD OF GOD". Actually, they are not the same. Maturity is when you realised that there is deference between The Bible and The Word of God. Until you know the difference, you will either misinterpret the meanings or sometimes get confuse when you read The Bible.

The word Bible is derived from the Greek word “biblia," meaning books. Books because it is the compilation of sixty-six different books. It is also known as Scripture because its writings are considered sacred. The Bible is the book as being superior to all other books ever written. It was written by some men through the inspiration of God. This is where many believers normally get it twisted. The Bible is the product of God's inspiration to man. This means if you believe in God, you can also write a book to bless the world through God's inspiration.

Moses, David, Paul, Luke, John, and the other writers of the Bible are not different from today's true minsters of the Gospel who have written many books. The God who inspired the ancient writers of the bible is the same God who inspires modern writers of books which impact knowledge of Christ. Religious believers will ask, "then why do the modern writers quote from the Bible?" This is unwise to ask. Apostle Paul was many times found in his epistles quoting from the old testament which is also part of the Bible. So what do we say to that? Quoting from their books means, their spirit and our spirit bear witness that we are Sons of God. Hallelujah!

So it is immature to think that the Bible and the Word of God are the same. If the Bible is still to be in compilation, I would be one of the writers. So could you. When you read the Bible, you know how God used men who believed in Him to manifest His glory. Actually, the Bible teaches about the Word of God. Its message is about salvation. It teaches that salvation can only be received by believing in Jesus who is the Word of God (John 1:1-14). The Bible contains millions of words talking about One Word and THE WORD IS JESUS, THE CHRIST. When you have one with you, you have the greatest book which talks about JESUS. Study it with the help of The Spirit.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter how you have the Bible with you; whether you have the booklet or you have it on your phone, iPad, computer, etc. The most important thing is to believe in the Jesus it talks about. Placing the Bible on your bed with the intention of driving demons away is foolishness. Stop misusing the Bible. Stop deceiving yourself. Let's carefully read this;

2 Timothy 3:14-17 (NKJV)
14 But you must CONTINUE IN THE THINGS WHICH YOU HAVE LEARNED and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,

15 and that from childhood you have KNOWN THE HOLY SCRIPTURES, WHICH ARE ABLE TO MAKE YOU WISE FOR SALVATION THROUGH FAITH WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS.

16 ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS,

17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

You see? Apostle Paul was teaching Timothy the right use of the Bible (Scripture) and its purpose. The verse fourteen means we are to continue (walk, obey) in the things we learn from the Bible. Verse fifteen reveals the difference between the Bible and the Word of God (Jesus). Paul meant that the Bible doesn't give salvation, rather, it gives wisdom for salvation when you read it. Salvation only comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Now let's consider the verse sixteen. Please go read again. You will find out the benefits (profits) of reading the Bible. It teaches us to do what is right. It never said you're protected because you have a bible.

Obviously, the Bible can't protect you from demons. Witches even have different versions in their rooms. Satan himself is good in quoting the Bible. So knowing how to quote doesn't scare him. Having the Bible on your bed doesn't scare him. He will only be scared of you if you have the Word (Truth) in you. You need The Word (Jesus) in you. You need to apply the Truth the Bible teaches.

It is high time you know the difference between the Bible and the Word of God. Don't be too much cumbered about the bad thought unbelievers have about the Bible. They can cease all the Bibles in the World but none can cease the Word of God. They can even burn them. However, burning the Bible isn't burning the Word of God. You can burn the book but you can't burn the Spirit. The Word is Spirit. Always remember, you can buy yourself a Bible but you can't buy the Word of God. You're to believe in the Word of God. There are more to know about Jesus Christ (The Word) but the Bible was too small to contain it (John 21:25). So allow the Holy Spirit to teach you more. He is the one who inspired me to write these. I leave you with this;

John 16:12-13 (NKJV)
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Stay inspired and blessed!
