DOES GOD KILL?

Since I wrote on my Facebook timeline, “If you study the Bible with the lens of the Holy Spirit, you'll realized that God isn't behind the KILLINGS in the old testament,” many folks have been asking me to elaborate that post for their understanding. Before I proceed, I would like to infer your attention on one of the reasons why Jesus came to earth. Aside to die for our sins, Jesus came to make what was unknown about God known. He came to rewrite what was falsely written about God. Actually, Jesus came to reveal the true character of God. Let's read and learn from what Jesus said.👇👇

Luke 10:22 (NLT)

“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and NO ONE TRULY KNOWS THE FATHER [GOD] EXCEPT THE SON AND THOSE TO WHOM THE SON CHOOSES TO REVEAL HIM.”

Did you notice that? No one knows God truly except Jesus and those who have caught a glimpse of such revelation through Jesus. Obviously, before Jesus, the prophets and those who sought to know God didn't TRULY know Him characteriologically. Why? Because the true character of God was hidden in Jesus and they didn't know Him (Jesus). They therefore misinterpreted God in many ways even in some of their writings. So reading the writings of the old testament without the knowledge of Jesus Christ will misinterprete God to you as wicked and cruel. If you really want to know who God is, believe in Jesus and study about Him. He is the character of God😘.

Now that you know God can truly be known only through Jesus Christ, let's deal with this question, “does God kill?” Actually, GOD DOESN'T KILL. Though He can because He's all powerful but He won't kill man because that's not His business. God's business is to restore man to his terrestrial. Ever since man  fall from immortality (God's Glory), God's desire is to provide eternal life to man, and not to kill him. Jesus came to reveal that desire of God. Let's read.👇👇

John 10:10 (NKJV)

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [JESUS] HAVE COME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE, AND THAT THEY MAY HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.

Obviously, those who tag God with killing are misinterpreting Him. They don't truly know Him. God is love and merciful. He is a gracious God. He doesn't kill man. Man kill themselves. Satan operates through men to kill themselves. The old testament folks were ignorant about this. They thought God was behind the killings because they were ignorant of satan's devices so they were outsmarted in many ways. 

In like manner, today, people are killing themselves and tagging God with it out of ignorance. They allow satan to operate through them to kill and they claim it was God who allows it to happen. Please don't misunderstand the sovereignty of God. God has given every man the free will to decide and choose. So don't blame Him for the problems you face as a result of a wrong choice you or someone makes. If people choose to ignore road signs while driving  and are killed in accidents, is it God who killed them? If out of anger you shoot and kill your wife, is it God who killed her? The answer to both questions is a BIG FAT NO😀.

Beloved, don't perish because of lack of knowledge. Unlearn every wrong information you have heard or read about God and relearn His true character by studying the life of Christ Jesus. God doesn't kill. He is not willing that anyone should perish but that all should receive eternal life through BELIEVING in JESUS CHRIST. May you grow in the knowledge of God through Christ Jesus, to be able to manifest the character of God, and to walk in total freedom. Amen
