BEFORE CRITICIZING

đź““Luke 6:41
_And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? (KJV)_

Many of us know the Word of God so well that we have learnt how to excuse our own actions while criticizing other people's actions. However, the Word of God goes beyond how most of us view it. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,...." - Hebrews 4:12. Clearly, it is dynamic, living, and life-changing as it works in us. Also, it's a guideline for living according to God's will.

Knowing this, we must look at ourselves and see if sin, in any form, exists within us before we criticize or accuse others. Sometimes, we become so insensitive to our own sins that we don't realize that we are the villain of the criticism we offer. Therefore, before criticizing others, we need to take enough time to discover our own motives. This is because the motives behind criticism are more significant to deal with than the criticism itself. Are you ready and willing to question your own motives before criticizing others?

Beloved, if you are ready to offer criticism, check to see if you deserve the same criticisms. Don't be so worried about other people's sins that you overlook your own. Instead of spending time criticising others, have time with God and ask Him to open your understanding in His Word so that you can see your own faults clearly. With this, you will find out that in condemning others, sometimes you end up condemning your own self.
