BE ALWAYS READY TO LEARN FROM JESUS

_And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. (KJV)_

Nowadays, many people profess to love Christ Jesus but they hardly pay attention to His Word. They are always busy for their work and other things to the extent that even talking to Jesus (prayer) and learning from Him (study) become problematic. Yet, to be an effective Christian, one must have the eagerness to learn from Christ Jesus. And to learn from Jesus means, to come to know who He is (the only way to God); to become informed of His justice (Judgement); and to find out what He has to offer us which is eternal life with God (salvation).

Actually, to know all these about Jesus, we must sit at His feet and learn from what He teaches. To consider all the aspects of the story of our opening verse, the two sisters, Martha and Mary loved Jesus. And both of them were serving Him, yet, Jesus acknowledged Mary's kind of serving. Jesus said to Martha, "There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her" - Luke 10:42 (nlt). Though Martha was serving, she failed to set her priorities right. So she was distracted and agitated by household chores (verse 40).

Beloved, are you so busy doing your own things that you are not spending any time with Jesus? Servant of God, are you so busy serving the church that you have no personal time with Jesus? Remember that not everyone who says to Jesus, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter God's Kingdom, but only those who does the will of His father [God] (Matthew 7:21). Unlike Martha, don't let any work you are doing either inside or outside church degrade into mere busywork that distract your personal time with the Lord. Know that having time for and with Jesus, thus, sitting at His feet and listening to what He teaches is the only one needful thing to discover in your Christian life. Always note that we are called to give attention to His Word first before the love for His Work take effect. First thing first!
