ABOUT SIN AND CARNALITY (Part 1)

To really understand the true Gospel and the writings of the Bible, it's very significant to know the difference between SIN and CARNALITY or WORK OF THE FLESH. Carnality isn't SIN itself, rather, it is the repercussion of sin. Let me push it hard to fish out the difference between sin and carnality.

In the Garden of Eden, God commanded Adam NOT to eat the tree of the Knowledge of good and evil, otherwise, he shall surely die. That command was the law guiding and sustaining Adam in the Garden. Did Adam obey the law? Unfortunately, he DISOBEYED. That was how SIN came into being. Let's readπŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Romans 5:19a (NKJV)
For as by one man’s [Adam's] DISOBEDIENCE  many were MADE SINNERS,...

Apparently, SIN was a generational curse caused by the DISOBEDIENCE OF ADAM in the Garden of Eden. And immediately Adam disobeyed (sinned) by eating of the tree, He and her wife's eyes were opened to CARNALITY. That's to say, they began KNOWING GOOD AND EVIL. They became carnal. Therefore, carnality is the side effect of Adam's sin. I hope you've now gotten the difference between sin and carnality. Let's learn further.πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Adam didn't die immediately as pronounced in the commandment right? Was the serpent (the devil) right when he said to Eve that, they will NOT surely die when they eat of the tree? Actually, there was a mystery in what God said (Genesis 2:17).
“YOU SHALL SURELY DIE” didn't mean DEATH was the CONSEQUENCE of eating of the tree (SIN). The consequence of it was/is the Knowledge of good and evil (CARNALITY). Then, what did God mean when He said, “You shall surely DIE?” Let's read carefully πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
For THE WAGES OF SIN IS  DEATH, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Obviously, God was pronouncing the WAGES of sin, and not the consequence. What God said actually means that, Death was the only means to reconcile; to undo; to make things right incase Adam eats of the tree, which he ate. In other words, to destroy the sin Adam created, he and everyone in his generation have to die. So death started reigning from Adam to his generation. Let's read πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Romans 5:14 (NKJV)
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

Subsequently, sin together with death were destroying the lives of many. The devil was having upper hands on many through sin and death. Moses then came to the scene introducing law to overcome or destroy sin. Did it succeed? πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Romans 8:3 (NKJV)
For what THE LAW COULD NOT DO in that it was weak through the flesh, GOD DID BY SENDING HIS OWN SON IN THE LIKENESS OF SINFUL FLESH, on account of sin: HE CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH,

The law Moses introduced couldn't destroy SIN. This is because the wages of sin was not anything other than death. So sin required blood without blemish to be removed or destroyed in which the law couldn't. Therefore, God sent Jesus do that work. Jesus came to remove the sin Adam created which was a barrier between God and man. Let's read πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

John 1:29 (NKJV)
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD!

Did you read that? Kindly go back and read again. Jesus became sin and died with it. He took the sin Adam created away. He destroyed sin which was a barrier between God and man by paying the wage which is His death. Now, there's no sin problem between God and the world. Jesus dealt with it with His blood. What the world needs now is ETERNAL LIFE and that comes only through BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST.

Obviously, the word "SIN" most people mention everyday has been destroyed by JESUS. Sin doesn't exist anymore. Jesus took it away. Talking about work of the FLESH (carnality) which was a result of sin, many ignorantly replace it with sin. And because many were familiar with the word "SIN", Apostle Paul and the other Apostles mostly used sin in their epistles in order not to confuse their hearers and readers. But If you're passionate like myself to understand the Bible accurately, you must know the difference between sin and carnality. In the next part, I will deal with CARNALITY and how to overcome it. Let me save my ink for nowπŸ˜€πŸ‘. I Hope you will be enlightened.

Stay blessed and inspired!
