KNOWING YOUR RIGTH SPIRITUAL FATHER

Who is your spiritual father? This is one of the questions many believers answer wrongly. At the moment you ask this question the answer you receive is the names of pastors, prophets, etc. However, pastors are not spiritual fathers. Your pastor is not your spiritual father, rather he is your spiritual brother. There is only one spiritual father.  Apart from Him, there is none other. Aside Him, anyone who claims  to be a spiritual father is a thief. Let's read carefully 👇

Ephesians 4:4-6 (NKJV)
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1 Timothy 2:5 (NKJV)
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Obviously, God (Christ) is the only spiritual father. No human (fresh and blood) can be a spiritual father. Those who preach the gospel and teach the WORD can't be and be called spiritual fathers because it's not in their own power to transform a person.

1 Corinthians 3:5-8 (NKJV)
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?
6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 
8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

Moreover, talking about who one's spiritual father is is to talk about he who gave birth to him in the Spirit, that's to talk about spiritual birth or rebirth. And it's clear that our rebirth don't result from human passion or plan but it's a birth that comes from God.

John 1:12-13 (NKJV)
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Any man of God who claims he is your spiritual covering, guard, and that is your spiritual father because he introduced you into CHRIST is enslaving you. No man can cover or guard your spirit. Only God does that. How can a mere man who sometimes employ his fellow man as personal bodyguard be your spiritual father? Don't let any man enslave you in the name of spiritual father. You're to respect all men and appreciate the role pastors play in the church but it's a mistake to make man (flesh and blood) your spiritual father.

In Christ, we are brethren. Age doesn't matter in Christ. Age becomes a factor when it comes to human's perspective. God sees all believers, including pastors, teachers, prophets,  apostles, and evangelists as brothers and sisters. We are His children. He has given birth to us in the Spirit. HE IS OUR SPIRITUAL FATHER.

Christ Jesus is the author and finisher of your faith. He is your perfect example. He is the Spirit who guard, guide, control and direct your spirit. Men of God are meant to teach you THE WORD OF GOD, not to father you in the Spirit.  Your father in the Spirit is God (Christ). He lives in you. Follow His leadings as an obedient child.

Matthew 23;8-10 (NLT)
 8 “Don’t let anyone call you ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters.
9 And don’t address anyone here on earth as ‘Father,’ for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father.
10 And don’t let anyone call you ‘Teacher,’ for you have only one teacher, the Messiah.
