THE KNOCK OF OPPORTUNITY

📓2 Peter 3:9
_The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV)_

Mostly, we stir up opposing the Word of God instead of accepting it. In other words, when we hear the message of repentance or any message that ask us to change our evil ways, we often turn away and refuse to listen. When we do that we risk our own lives because that may be the only opportunity. Besides, opportunity may come at once, that's why we must take advantage of every opportunity God gives to us.

God is merciful. His love for us is constant, patient and affable. He always knocks at the door of our heart because He wants to save and have communion with us (Revelation 3:20). He gives us opportunities to respond to His knocks. However, He doesn't force us to open our heart to Him. He allows us to decide whether or not to open our heart to Him. Apparently, most of us take these God's given opportunities for granted forgetting that it's our own lives we are risking.

Beloved, the opportunity to accept Christ Jesus or to change from bad lifestyle may not present itself again. Therefore, when you hear the Word of God pointing out needed changes in your life, don't hesitate to listen. Time is running out and that may be your first and last opportunity. If you refuse to accept Christ or change for the truth, you may not get another chance. In conclusion, "make the most of every opportunity in these evil days" - Ephesians 5:16 (nlt).
