THE CERTAINTY OF YOUR SALVATION

One day, I attended a certain denomination for a Bible study. During the studies, the Pastor said something which baffled me as he was teaching about salvation. He said, "as a believer, you're to do your best to continue in obedience and humility so that THE LORD WILL CONSIDER AND SELECT YOU AMONG THE SAVED when He returns." ๐Ÿค”

I then asked him a question about the statement he made. "Pastor, will you be considered and selected among the saved when the Lord returns?" His reply was, "I can't tell, only the Lord knows." I wasn't surprised of his reply because I was once in the shoes of religion which made me think alike.

Similarly, many believers are not certain of their salvation. They pray almost every day just to make sure God select them among the saved or writes their names in the book of life. Even most denominations gather for such purpose which is very wrong. God doesn't want you to pray such prayer. He wants you to know well that you have eternal life. He wants you to be so sure of your salvation.

As a believer in Christ, if you're not sure of your salvation then I'm sorry to say that you're ignorant of the gospel. Be sure of who you are in Christ. God is not going to consider and save you at Christ's return, you're already saved. Your salvation is assured. You already have eternal life in you. You are already in Heaven. After believing in Christ, you have to grow from "I believe" to "I know". Knowing who God has made you to be through Christ brings freedom. Let's read๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

1 John 5:13 (NKJV)

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [CHRIST] , that YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE , and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

I hope you read that๐Ÿ‘† carefully? This is your identity as a believer. You must know that you have eternal life. If you are uncertain of your salvation, then what do you preach or tell about Christ to others? Uncertainty is not a parameter of our faith in Christ. You must commit to the faith and know. Salvation is a gift from God through faith in Christ. You don't work to receive, rather, you believe to receive. So if you believe in Christ, you already have it. There's no doubt. Know that it's a gift. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT)

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

This is why Jesus Christ died and resurrected. Just for you and I to believe and have eternal life free of charge. This is the gospel we preach. Don't be led by religion uncertainties. Accept the truth of the gospel and be free. Be sure and certain of your new life in Christ.

Stay blessed!
